Abstract

The aim of this article is carry out, through bibliographic and normative research, a dialogue between law and medicine about the realization of the right to comprehensive health care for transgender people in the face of the STF's recognition of the right to adapt the name and gender for extrajudicial life, without the need for surgeries and the depathologization of transgenderity by the World Health Organization.

Pós-Doutora em Direito pela Université de Montreal, Canadá. Mestre e Doutora em Direito pela PUC-SP. Especialista em Bioética pela Faculdade de Medicina da USP. Docente e Pesquisadora do Mestrado em Direito Processual e Cidadania e, da graduação em Medicina e Direito, na UNIPAR, Universidade Paranaense. Membro da Law and Society Association (USA). Advogada em São Paulo.
