INTELIGÊNCIA ARTIFICIAL: DESAFIOS E RISCOS ÉTICO-JURÃDICOS
Abstract
This article aims to understand what artificial intelligence is and its social applicability to increase the effectiveness of the most varied production, management and communication processes in society (both in the public and private sectors), thus providing subsidies for the development of public policies, regulation and legislation related to this technological branch. Results: i) it is still very difficult (if not impossible) to predict the moment when humanity will obtain an AI that thinks and behaves like human intelligence — and that does not mean that the current degree of development of AI-related technologies is not potentially dangerous for human existence; ii) the quality of communication must be very well managed in relation to the public with regard to the application of AI in sectors such as education, security, services and intelligence in general, as several ethical concerns emanate from such applications; iii) initiatives to bring the public closer (and not just information) to the important decisions related to AI is a means of making AI development happen to people, and not at their expense. Thus, public and civil society institutions must be redesigned to overcome the democratic deficit and fear in relation to AI. Methodology: hypothetical-deductive procedure method, qualitative approach and bibliographic and documentary research technique.
